Requirements
- Basic networking, Linux command-line use and web application concepts.
- Owned or explicitly authorized intentionally vulnerable lab targets, isolated from production.
Tools and resources
- A development computer with resources appropriate to the proposed local exercises.
- Resources for isolated, resettable virtual machines.
- A virtualization environment, an intentionally vulnerable local application and a test browser.
- An intercepting lab proxy and local diagnostic tools used only within the authorized scope.
Description
Plan bounded security assessments, validate findings and recommend remediation entirely within owned or explicitly authorized practice labs.
Who this course is for
Developers and network learners studying responsible security assessment.
Example practical project
Proposed capstone: assess an intentionally vulnerable local web service under written lab rules, then document and retest a remediation.
